Biden designates Kenya a non-NATO ally as he seeks to boost ties in Africa

President Biden welcomed Kenyan President William Ruto to the White House on Thursday for an official state dinner as part of his efforts to deepen relations with the East African nation, a key ally in fighting against the Islamic State and other terror groups on the continent.

During the visit, Mr. Biden notified Congress of his intention to designate Kenya a “major non-NATO ally.” The designation is bestowed on countries whose militaries have strategic working relationships with the U.S., but not necessarily a mutual defense pact.

“Kenya is one of the United States Government’s top counterterrorism and security partners in sub-Saharan Africa, and the designation will demonstrate that the United States sees African contributions to global peace and security as equivalent to those of our Major non-NATO Allies in other regions,” Mr. Biden wrote in a letter to Congress.

Feel sorry for Kenya - should have stuck with Russia/China.

I’ll wait til I see a treaty ratified by the Senate before I think of them as an “ally.”

When you say that are you serious?

You prefer that Kenya ally with our enemies rather than with us?

I just read that we dropped $200 million on a base in Nigeria only for them to tell us to leave. Russians will be their allies. Supposedly we’ll take our toys but leave the infrastructure. The military knows how to pound stuff into rubble. But we won’t.

When I visited Kenya in 2003 they were solid American and Israeli allies.

I guess the Biden administration feels like it has to do something to distract from the U.S getting asked to leave some of the other African countries.

Biden left a repoted $69 billion in weapons in Afghanistan when he ran out of there

we shipped it in, we COULD HAVE shipped it out

.....but no, a gift to the Islamic terrorists of the world

same for Biden sending USA weapons to Lebanon (Hezballah) and financing and arming PLO murder gang in Samaria/Judaea

and now sending tons of “aid” to Hamas in Gaza

oh yes, also Both Obamma and Biden sending BILLIONS to the dangerous dictatorship in Iran (you kknow, the one that threatens it will use its nuclear ICBMs to destroy USA)

America under the DNC is a very very very dangerous, war-mongering operation.............AND ON THE SIDE OF OUR ENEMIES

it used to be called treason, now Biden calls it “humanitarian aid” or “social justice” or ??????

Thanks. My wife told me about it as she was reading it. She likely mispronounced it.

“You prefer that Kenya ally with our enemies rather than with us?”

What I prefer doesn’t matter - I’m just noting that I doubt Kenya wants the same fate as Libya, Afghanistan, and soon Ukraine - which is what happens when they entrust their futures to the Neocons.

“”””Feel sorry for Kenya - should have stuck with Russia/China.””””

Your advice make clear your preference.

“Your advice make clear your preference.”

History makes that clear - what would you prefer to be now - Qaddafi in Libya, who through-in everything with the Neocons, or Assad in Syria, who asked the Russians to help him out?

Seems to be a VERY EASY decision for most of the Third World.

What is clear is that you prefer they ally with America’s enemies instead of with us.
