I thought the Supreme Court ruled a state couldn’t keep someone off a federal ballot.

The Supreme Court ruled that states could not keep a candidate off the ballot, using the 14th Amendment as their justification.

For one thing, it's not a "federal ballot." A presidential election is a combination of 50 state elections (plus the District of Columbia). That's why there is no set of uniform federal standards for ballots, for voting hours, voting processes, etc.

A state can certainly establish its own deadline for publishing its ballots.

The appointment of Electors by the Ohio Legislature is NOT a “federal election”.

He's not off the ballot. He just has to get on the ballot by August 7th, like every other candidate. I expect they will dash out and get the signatures needed like RFK Jr. has to, unless he can find one of the thousands of tyrants in black robes to explain to us that opposing Joe Biden is illegal.

In other years the Ohio legislature has passed laws allowing a later date, but ot this year.

Personally I think it's a dirty move, but the Democrats have already shown that this year's election is dirty by arresting President Trump and unleashing the lawfare and tge FBI against him.
