It is not true regarding glacial ice that is not yet free floating (an iceberg.) Volumes of glacial ice currently moving across land that enter the sea will melt and eventually increase sea levels.

The glacial ice that is lost is replenished by annual snow fall created from the atmospheric moisture from the evaporation of water in the oceans.

The claim now is that the Thwaites Glacier is shrinking due to global warming when the reality is that the continent of Antarctica only gets an average of 2 inches of precipitation each year. Antarctica is technically a desert, This is because the cold air simply can't hold much water.

Global warming? No, agreed. Sounds like vulcanism is the cause in this instance, although the volcano's location under the ice would make it hard to verify.

North Africa swings between Desert and Green Savannah in a 40,000 year cycle that has more to do with precession of the equinoxes. There are regular processes that get deliberately overlooked because some groups promote global warming to attract people to their side.
