When is Herr Richter Merchan again standing for re-election, does anyone know? Or does New York appoint judges for life?
He’s never been elected to any judicial position he’s held. He was a family court judge back in the late 2000’s, then in 2009 he was appointed to his current post as justice of the New York Supreme Court.
