Cohen obviously has no moral compass, and the perjury and theft show that clearly.

But didn’t the DOJ that was desperately looking for a way to bring down Trump basically said Cohen would confess to what were non-crimes so that eventually Trump could be accused of not recording the $130,000 hush money payment as a campaign contribution? In reality, the $130,000 was Cohen’s investment into becoming AG, he thought. A private transaction between Stormy Daniels and himself. Only after the DOJ claimed it was a campaign contribution to Trump (which Cohen himself used for something not legal for campaign funds to be used for...) did Cohen start claiming that Trump directed him to do it, etc. Am I understanding that correctly?

If so, then there wasn’t a crime until the DOJ threatened to put Cohen and his wife in jail unless he went along with framing Trump. Do I have that right?

Unless I’m totally misunderstanding, it seems to me that the people who should be on trial are the DOJ people who suborned perjury by threatening to prosecute non-crimes - just as Alvin Bragg is now prosecuting non-crimes.

5-7 jury decision.

Five hate him so thoroughly they won’t be able to let it go.

Seven hate him but they’re not cray cray.

What are the betting odds of a hung jury/mistrial?

Excellent point. The pivot away from the Democrat party by historically core groups has been amazing.

LOL, his fawning, blow-by-blow dramatic description of Stormy’s first entrance into the courtroom bordered on (should I say it?) porn.

If the initial vote on any of the 34 counts is not 12-0 to convict, Merchan will send the jury back to “try to agree on a verdict.” At that point, I would guess that the TDS jurors will start working on the “heretics” to get a unanimous guilty vote. Then what will happen? They would have 34 chances to get a unanimous vote.

Exactly! Must be irritating the heck out of the jurors.

And if Trump had reported it as a campaign contribution, they’d have prosecuted him anyway, on the grounds of violating campaign finance laws, since he used his own money. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

That’s how I have it pegged. One hard NO, four with reasonable doubt.

There is absolutely no way that Trump will be found innocent.

Any juror that votes innocent will have their life and their family‘s life totally destroyed.

The juror, the juror’s family and the juror’s kids will be forever doxxed, harassed or worse.

The democrats/far left will demand that as a minimum.

Haven’t checked lately, but my understanding there was a drop of 10 points or more in Predictit, even before the Cohen implosion.

That’s the scenario the Democrats are hoping for. Given their track record on lawfare, I wouldn’t bet a plug nickel on it.

Hung jury is the most likely outcome, but acquittal from a Manhattan jury is remotely unlikely.
