They all have cell phones— and those are NOT policed. They will most certainly look up what the hell happened and see this set up. Hanging the jury and the trial.
The judge realizes that the case, and his career are both imploding.
He’s now resorted to reading minds looking for evidence.
Pretty sure it was the prosecutor rolling his eyes at defense questions of their own witness. Rolling his eyes where the judge would.. “get the signal”. Costello is very sharp, and not an eye roller. Longtime history as Federal prosecutor and... a dem to boot! The transcript of these exchanges would be nice to have.
“Wow, I hope the jury sees this trial for what it is. I will be impressed if a Manhattan jury realizes they are being played”

A judge tells me not to investigate online or see tonight’s news…. That means that is precisely what Justice demands I do.
When the defense gives their final argument it needs to tell the jury, “The prosecution is COUNTING on you to be so biased that you’ll ignore their clearly meritless case, and convict anyway. That’s how much disdain they have for you. Prove them wrong.”
The judge realizes he's become a joke among people with sense. Costello can mop the flood with the 'da judge'...an idiot fool. Merchan thought he could whore for the democrat party and 'win'. He can't. This outburst is just more proof of that.

Facts not in evidence...
Make no mistake this judge will have a conviction after he instructs the jury and he will sentence Trump to prison and he won’t leave him out pending appeal. This will have a major impact on the election and I suspect re-elect Joe Biden or whoever the Democrats replace him with at the convention.
There is plenty of reversible error in this trial and a fairly good chance the conviction will be overturned but I would not bet on that happening at the first appelate level. More likely in the top state court or federal court. That may not do Trump much good in the election. We are headed for a real political crisis in this country and at least a cold civil war with a very good chance of turning violent because there do not appear to be any adults in the Democrat Party.
It just seemed interesting to me that Merchan seems to want the jurors to voluntarily sequester themselves, now that even “mainstream” sources are noting how corrupt this whole thing is.
He’s seemed willing to keep everybody but Trump from being able to be heard but right now it’s everybody but Trump who are starting to see the same things Trump has said all along, and hearing it from people who aren’t Trump - but are indeed very much against Trump - is more dangerous to Merchan than anything he would have gagged Trump himself from saying. So he tells the jurors to stop listening to what the rest of the world is saying. And to not research things such as what the defense witness that was denied (the FEC guy?) would say if Merchan allowed him to testify. If the jurors do take a peek at what the real world is saying they might not like the way they are being played.
And I can’t help but think that the 2 attorneys in the jury have got to be wondering what effect it would have on their law license and their credibility if they voted to convict Trump after all this crap. They must see what is going on.
Yup. Especially if this is the first time he’s done it; tells you he doesn’t want you to see what people are saying about how the day went...
