Make no mistake this judge will have a conviction after he instructs the jury and he will sentence Trump to prison and he won’t leave him out pending appeal. This will have a major impact on the election and I suspect re-elect Joe Biden or whoever the Democrats replace him with at the convention.
There is plenty of reversible error in this trial and a fairly good chance the conviction will be overturned but I would not bet on that happening at the first appelate level. More likely in the top state court or federal court. That may not do Trump much good in the election. We are headed for a real political crisis in this country and at least a cold civil war with a very good chance of turning violent because there do not appear to be any adults in the Democrat Party.
I think Trump could appeal to the Supreme Court due to the extraordinary nature of the charges, the trial and the obvious fact that THIS is the most obvious election interference in the history of the USA - and almost anywhere else where opposition opponents are not assassinated!
I also wonder if this trial won’t impact how the Supreme Court will rule on the immunity case. There is NO DOUBT that Biden has turned the DOJ into his Praetorian Guard.
The argument would be A) this is an attempt to prevent Trump from running for office and B) no court below the Supreme can put an end to it.
Good legal argument? No, but there is nothing good OR legal about what is happening in NY!
