Possible power struggle. The helicopter crash has happened at what is being termed a critical time in middle eastern relations. And suddenly, at a critical time, the top police official has been assassinated.
I won't name names, but if evil people are going to be crashed into mountain sides or riddled with bullets, I have a few suggestions.

Weird coinkydink that this happens same day the Presidents chopper went down. Sounds like maybe those missiles over Israel might have been a mistake.
