Johnson’s Trump trip unsettles some Republicans: ‘Tell me this isn’t so’
The Hill ^ | 05/28/2023 | MYCHAEL SCHNELL, MIKE LILLIS

Posted on 05/18/2024 6:15:10 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) decision to appear this week at former President Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan is sparking new blowback from some House Republicans, who are questioning why he would inject himself so prominently in a case involving an alleged affair with a porn star.

These Republicans, who requested to speak anonymously to discuss the sensitive topic, are accusing Johnson — a devout Southern Baptist who built a career around the fight for Christian values and moral conservatism — of undermining the party’s family values image simply to ingratiate himself with Trump, the party’s presumptive presidential nominee.

None of them are “house republicans”. Did you even read the article at all, even just the first line?

We abandoned the "family values" stuff when we chose Trump as our standard-bearer eight years ago.

The issues at stake these days are far greater.

Ditto on abortion.

Biden’s entire Presidency was supported and enabled by the Republicans.

His people, his agenda, his bills - all got and needed Republicans to do it for Joe.

The State’s Attorney in DC who has gone after Trump and everything Republican, while refusing to allow charges to be brought against Hunter, and has shut down the Investigations of Joe was unanimously passed by Republicans. In his hearing, they wanted his assurances that Jan 6th Prosecutions and Investigations would be his highest Priority, which he gleefully agreed that should be the Nation’s priority.

That was Republicans in Congress demanding his assurances and asking zero questions about Investigating Joe, and they all voted for Graves.

Joe, Joe’s sister, his brothers, his sister in laws, his kids, and his Grandkids got over $30 Million dollars from rogue regimes, and nothing has been done. Over $30 Million, and nobody registered as a Foreign Agent (FARA).

The Republican-led Ethics committee wanted Republicans investigated for Jan 6th. They open Investigations on Conservatives and zero interest in the Fire Alarm puller, AOC’s money, Maxine Watters spending millions on her family, and people marrying their brothers to break the law.

Many Republicans thought Joe Biden would be the greatest President ever because they knew he would spend or everything and anything. Lindsey Graham got recorded saying it, and admitted to it when the recording came out.

The outcasts of the Republican Party in Congress spoke out about Hunter and double standards, the money that goes to Joe’s family, and his Mansions.

Trump has a good strong family and his family values are better than most. He loves his kids and grandkids and he loves his wife.

None of his kids are dope addicts and bums like Bidens.

People who have small children have yet to prove how strong their families are. By the time you get to be Trump’s age, people know.

Has Trump made mistakes? Yes, but he has never abandoned his family.

Not one mentioned is in the house. I know it can be confusing, but there are senators in the senate and representatives in the house. The article states it was current house members. I understand it’s confusing.

True, but I've never pretended that he was a saint, unlike many.

I accepted early on that he was a deeply flawed human being. But I also accept that he has been treated extremely unfairly. Furthermore, I doubt he has any more skeletons in his closet than do the vast majority of politicians. Certainly no more than Bill Clinton.

DeSantis was my guy but now Trump is. And the people engaging in lawfare against him, I loathe with a white hot hatred.

President Trump has repeatedly said, in the past, that there was no affair with this ho “Stormy Daniels.”

He hasn’t denied the so-called affair recently because of that unconstitutional gag order.

In the past, when Trump told Melania that he was because accused of having an affair with that porn star, Melania reportedly said to President Trump, “I don’t believe that. You’re a germaphobe.”

I absolutely know all of that but I am saying they say nothing about the people showing concern that want to remain anonymous but seem to share opinions with the RINOs they quote, who cares?

Are the Republicans concerned about family values, etc, willing to talk about the $17,000,000 paid out to victims of assault and harassment from memebers of Congress?

Personally, I believe Trump laid the pipe to Stormy Daniels, rode her long and hard, and then paid her off to STFU about it.

This is not illegal.

And, I don't care.

There is no end to the list of Republicans who hate and undermine Trump.

What exactly does one have to see?

Biden admitted on Video he blackmailed Ukraine with a Billion dollars to fire their Prosecutor - in early 2016.

8 years later - they’re “investigating” him.

The Republicans held both houses of Congress - in 2016 and 2017, too.

I’d say that the Republic abandoned the ‘family values’ stuff with Bill Clinton in the 90s. (And Kennedy in the 60s - though the propaganda outlets pretty much kept that from the proles.)

What’s your point? Are you somehow looking for facts in a completely made up piece of fiction? Who’s the thickhead? Now STFU.
