IF convicted, I see probation at worst case scenario.
Dems already saying Cohen was a plant.
A double triple cross there to help Trump.
put a (D) after his name; or is that just a defendant?
You don’t get it, do you? He’s already been found guilty, they packed the jury with Trump haters. Guaranteed. It’s a show trial.
Will the jury care
Are there any Trump doubters of the Trump boomerang effect still around after this one?
It appears Goldman coached him to lie.
Cohen and Avenatti should open a law firm.
“Trump’s lawyers didn’t try to alter the jury? Usually a defense team does. It’s not like every single person in NYC cares about politics, and jury pols tend to end up less educated.”
Oh they tried! But the Judge was having none of that. If any prospective jury even gave a hint that they could be impartial, much less was a conservative, they were toss from consideration very quickly.
Will the jury care
Like the OJ jury.
He’s got an investment banker, a corporate lawyer, a civil litigator, and a wealth manager. All people who can separate crap from shinola. In some way they, through their professions, can indentify with how a business operates, books it’s accounting methods, weight of evidence and so forth. For a NY jury, to me it looks like he’s got a fair shake.
Well I wish I shared your optimism
A member of Congress suborned perjury in a court of law?

On "The Journal Editorial Report" today they discussed the trial and Michael Cohen's testimony. Despite saying that Cohen lied, they seemed to think that the most Trump could hope for is a mistrial if one juror refuses to vote to convict.
There are two lawyers on the jury. If they vote to convict just because they don't like Trump even when they realize that the prosecution hasn't proven Trump's guilt, could they in theory be subject to some disciplinary punishment? Of course they could keep their identities secret but the jurors will be probably basking in public notoriety once the trial is over, and a New York State bar association probably won't take any action (even if warranted).
It’s hard to identify anything Turley has been correct about, going back to when he claimed there wasn’t sufficient “evidence” to indict Trump in the first place.
Exactly.
However, their "system" might not work so well after this.
There wasn't.
They did it anyway.
Why are you defending the corrupt cartel stooge Merchan and Biden's stooge prosecutor?
I'm sensing a pattern emerging from you, born on March 3, 2024 guy...
Why do you say that? The system seems to be working perfectly, as far as their perspective goes.
Cohen performed precisely and exactly as directed from the beginning. The trial was a weaponized farce scripted to smear Trump
All the weaponizers forfeited their right to life by the purposeful use of the American Republic as a weapon.
The game they played is now over and a new game in which they no longer exist must begin
“poses the question of whether the jury ‘is realizing that they are being played by the prosecution’.”
If the jurors realized that, they aren’t insulted, and they wouldn’t care. Either they’re true believers in anti-Trump, and/or their bank accounts exploded recently compliments of TPTB in NY.
They will convict, no matter what.
