I used to say that we should mark our debts to China "paid in full" for this. After later realizing that this was actually our fault, I'm speechless. I'm just simply at a loss for words, beyond saying that I'm absolutely appalled at what this country has become.
So how would I answer anyone who called me out for my previous comments? I can't. It's that bad.
Well, lookit, I don't know if you're being sincere here or trolling or whatnot. But assuming you are being sincere, for my part (for what it's worth), I'm impressed with what you've said here. Most people aren't this forthright. I know it doesn't come easily to me, that's for sure.
I don't buy into all of the full-blown COVID "conspiracy" theories one sees bandied about. That "mistakes were made" and that "lies were told" has sufficient explanatory power for me. What I do recognize is that the U.S. government's subsequent response to the COVID pandemic -- in particular, the vax mandates under Biden, but also the shuttering of schools and the wild distribution of funds -- did tremendous damage to this country, damage from which I'm not sure we will recover.
The only good thing I can see coming out of this is that, for a fair number of people, their eyes have been opened, leading to a better perception of reality. I applaud you for your own reaction to all this.
