I think it is maybe only now that the “news” is reporting these accidents as often as they have maybe always been happening.

Of course they’ve always happened.

I was waiting for someone to post this incident - when it was Baltimore, the posts came faster - along with the accusations of DEI.

Used to live in the Mid Ohio River Valley. Loose tow barges striking bridges and other infrastructure was not an uncommon event. Never catastrophic damage, but inconvenience as bridges are closed temporarily for inspection.

Sound like kind of a big deal if it’s the only bridge connectng Galveston with the mainland.
