I remember when Mitt Romney sent Paul Ryan to Minnesota just before election day in 2012, and many people on FR were giddy with delusions about the “fact” that not only was Romney definitely going to win the election he was EVEN GOING TO WIN MINNESOTA!!!!!

Oops.

One supposedly logical excuse for the mass delusion was that if the Romney campaign was spending even one ounce of effort in a place like Minnesota then, surely all — or at least ENOUGH — of the 2012 swing states like Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado and Pennsylvania were totally in the bag for the Republicans.

Turns out that “wishful thinking” isn’t quite the same as “logic”, after all.

Nixon 1972 last time MN went red? 2020: 1,717,077 for Bidet and 1,484,065 for Trump. 2016: 1,367,825 for Hillaroid and 1,323,232 for Trump. Too many leftists in the Twin Cities area. The rest of the state is mostly red (mostly).
