IIRC, it is draining funds to cover disability that is causing the problem. And “disability” is, IMHO, mostly a scam. Not always...but more often than not!
they already got the fix. the shot will have taken care of most of the elderly in the next 10 years. They will have a surplus before too long

We need a growing economy, fewer regulatory burdens on business, a whole lot less government spending and to be rid of Democrats.
The economy would blossom in very short order.
It really is just that simple.
There are plenty of scammers on disability.
Thanks to COVID (not the vax, I wasn’t falling for Fauci’s lies), I have been disabled but still working since 2020. It can be done.
Before COVID, I was fit, healthy, and still looked, according to my husband, “hot.” Now I have COPD, POTS, novel life-threatening seizures, am restricted from driving, and facing lung cancer. My PET scan results are due in Monday to see how bad it is.
Even with all of this, I am still working, still closing deals, still growing the company.
Truth be told, if my PET scan lit up like a Christmas tree, I’m going to pack it in. At that point, I think most people would agree I qualify.
The Disability “fund” is in better shape than the retirement fund.
But the big lie is that there is no fund at all.
They are T Bill’s. Federal IOUs.
“IIRC, it is draining funds to cover disability that is causing the problem. And “disability” is, IMHO, mostly a scam.”
I personally know 3 people on disability. One is a faker but got an attorney and won their case, and now lives a normal life of leisure. The second had a stroke and lost sight in one eye, but is otherwise healthy and carries on life normally. The other has Parkinson’s and is losing ability to function daily. IMO, only the Parkison patient is truly disabled and deserves supplemental disability income because they cannot work.
Yes. SSDI is the defacto SS now for those who just don’t want to work to retirement age. Last I checked it ran to about 20-25%, IIRC. I could be wrong about that, but there are a LOT of people on BS disabilities that seem perfectly fine.
