I think homeowners there go “off grid” cuz the power ain’t dependable.

You can shut off your Main Breaker to isolate your property from the grid, but you can’t physically detach the wires. It’s a racket: they bill you for a condition you cannot legally avoid, and the Public Utilities Commission that’s supposed to protect ratepayers is stated by leftists, bought, and paid for by leftist politicians.
