Israel invaded southern Lebanon in 1982 (Under Carter later years and Pres Reagan's first year there was a cease fire) . PLO went off after Israel invaded. Reagan did a most idiotic decision in trying to appease Haig and Weinberger at the same time (Who had two opposing views).
