No, I heard one yesterday afternoon and saw a husk on a grass seed stem while I was mowing. We might not have one of the big broods here; just the “annual” ones and they’re a little slow to come out.
One of the Nashville news stations did a piece last week about a couple whose house was totally covered with cicadas. None of their neighbors had any!

I don’t know what to expect here. We’ve had huge hatchings a couple of times in the past but I don’t remember when the last one was. It’s been a while.

The noise really gets on some people’s nerves but it’s never bothered me. Some people don’t like katydids but they’re my favorite summer bugs. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. :-)

If I had a house covered with those things, I’d be GONE!! I hate them. My dogs used to eat them and of course, it would make them sick. But they had to go out to do their “job”, and, well, the critters were just there.

I love the sound of crickets in the distance. We haven’t had any for years. Mainly, I think, because of the drought here. We’ve never had katydids as far as I know. I haven’t even seen a grasshopper for ages, come to think of it. If only the skeeters would disappear! LOL! Life would be good.

Now...I’d best finish this show and hit the pillows. It’s been a good day, but time to end it for tomorrow...and tunes! See ya then. [sorry....]
