So, what's your ethnic background? Italian, English, Polish, German, Scottish, Scots Irish, French, African, Chinese,???

Presumably you don't have an issue with any one of the above who don't share your background "having undue political influence" over you.

No different than the bigots who say that our Supreme Court should not have 5 Catholics out of 9...
