Israelis Shocked by Biden’s Betrayal on Ammunition, but Determined to Win
Breitbart ^ | 05/09/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK

Israelis across the political spectrum were shocked Thursday by U.S. President Joe Biden’s commitment to stop the shipment of offensive weapons to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to prevent Israel from attacking Hamas in Rafah.

Biden made the threat in an interview Wednesday with CNN that aired early Thursday local time, just hours after Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin admitted to the Senate that a shipment of bombs to Israel had been paused.

The president expanded the stoppage to include artillery, and accused Israel of using American-made weapons to kill Palestinian civilians — a claim that echoed the accusations of antisemitic “encampments” at the nation’s universities.

A hostage life lost can never be regained.

Israel has a lifetime to deal with a perp.

“If we don’t get your product we will make an equivalent or better product ourselves. We will also sell such a product to other countries to recoup R&D costs.”

I worked for the American division of what was then Israel’s biggest defense contractor. Israel can manufacture everything that they get from the US. AS far as I’m aware there are coproduction agreements in place for all critical items. What they lack is scale and efficiency. If you’re building hundreds of something, like we do in the US, then each item is cheaper. American sales to Israel have several purposes. They increase the cost efficiency for when the US buys the same item. More was manufactured so the US price is cheaper. They support the Israeli economy by letting them spend less on defense so they can spend more on economic development. Before everyone gets hyper about that, the US is not being magnanimous. The stronger Israel is, the less the US has to spend in treasure and lives to keep peace in the world. We can argue whether that’s in US interests, but that’s the reason. I’d argue it is in our interest as conflicts, once started, tend to have a lot of spillover. For decades we supported Iran. When we had a sudden change in policy...thank you Carter...we ended up with the Ayatollah. We’re changing policy to support Islam now. HUGE mistake.

I think politics is as much about what’s fashionable as it is about morality and logic. Israel is suddenly unpopular because the US government was pro-Israel for so long, the Democrats had to come out against it as they had to pick up the Anti-Israel vote. The pro-Israel vote was on the Republican side so there was no point in being pro-Israel if you’re a Democrat. Hopefully, the fashion will change again soon. Out with ripped genes and tie-died jerseys and back to a suit and tie.

One can easily find Arabic writing when searching for “Mein Kampf” quotes.

“Islam” is fine by itself but quite often due to its fundamental principles it does not play nicely with others.

I would not have a wolf as a household pet.

Good example of Obozo running the Biden White House. Obozo, being a muslim, is pushing the protection of Islam; Iran

A pathway to the safety of the West Bank should be made for Gazan women, children and old men by Israel.

Why? Their women were eager to strap on explosive belts to their own kids. And their old men doubtless supported the Israeli massacre. No, send them all to hell.

By far, Israel has been the recipient of the greatest amount of U.S. (military + economic) aid over the years. Israel is a wealthy and prosperous nation. We are $34 trillion in debt and counting. Why are we sending Israel and other nations money we don’t have? Corruption, greed, fecklessness and insanity come to mind.

This is happening because Israel delayed the final assault for too long.

Unless they personally did wrong they should not suffer harm if practical to do so.

“Why are we sending Israel and other nations money we don’t have?”

To buy votes - it’s what federal elected politicians mainly do.

Biden has the war in Gaza that he wants to end immediately and he has the war in Ukraine that he wants to never end.

The IDF is doing an amazing job of avoiding civilian deaths and Gaza is a 125 sq miles of the least strategic land imaginable.

The Ukraine is one of the most strategic places on earth and the death and destruction in the war there is off the charts.

So, I guess, by that logic, you would also be (and have been) against the strategic bombing of Germany and Japan during World War II as well ...

Please respond appropriately.”

That’s what Israel should have already been doing.

The Palestinian cause is far more popular in this country than people here realize. Even among American Jews, the Palestinian cause has massive support. So this is an understandable move by Biden, with no political downside.
