“I think you mean showing its malice.”

Not really. I supported the government for almost 30 years as a contractor, it was amazing the times I had to cover for government incompetence. The best and brightest are not government employees, it is their highly paid contractors and “expert” support that keep them afloat.

“government incompetence”

In my day, it was not incompetence so much as the lack of competence. Government employees were rarely stupid.

“A man has to know his limitations.”

Nowadays, stupidity is far more common.

The widespread incompetence of the Biden administration should not cause you to underestimate government worker intelligence in general.

It is government managing ability that is in somewhat short supply and that is mainly because of the lack of cost control pressure and the difficult of firing civil servants.

I attended sessions of the Connecticut legislature yesterday while visiting the state capitol. All the legislators that I heard spoke well.

I totally disagree. Contractors really did nothing except sit around and shout the crap. Maybe an hour a day they did work.
