This is part of their problem:
The first exchange student we ever had in high school was from Sweden. He was shockingly unaware of danger (this was in Memphis, so if you’re from here you’d be quite familiar with danger).
He would say he wanted to go to, pick any bad neighborhood. He’d be told over and over again that drug dealers, prostitutes, child molesters, drunks and all kinds of bad people were there. By the end of the school year he finally figured it out.
Many Western Europeans I met in the 80s and 90s were like this, not all, but the majority were (Eastern Europeans are a different story).
So Sweden let in a bunch of people who came across the Mediterranean Sea on rafts, who probably threw the Christians with them overboard to be eaten by sharks, and then expected things to go swimmingly?
I spent a week in Mogadishu on the Mississippi nearly four decades ago and that was more of a sentence than a vacation.
