"By departing from this sensible arrangement, and allowing the Secretaries to dismantle National Guard units on a whim, Legislative Proposal 480 would set a dangerous precedent," he added. "Members of the Texas National Guard must always stand ready to respond to natural disasters, civil disturbances, and cartel activity that threaten our way of life."

audie !!!!!
Now I’m confused again. Awhile back I was reading about the Little Rock, Arkansas school desegregation incident. The governor of Arkansas supported the segregationists. Eisenhower stepped in and federalized the Arkansas Guard without the governor’s permission.
Perhaps some law was changed after that incident, giving governors more control.
DJT is CIC. Only the CIC, not a fake bidAn, can unfederalize.
For those that look at military aircraft movements, this is proven DAILY, with NG of one state operating in other states. When not federalized, NG units operate within their respective state.
“It’s not potato, people. It’s obama.”
Bears repeating.
People keep responding like it is the buffoon comes up with this crap.
It’s a bad precedent. If Biden does this in a Red state, he could do it in any state, right?
Uh, no.
There are different rules and authorities that apply to DC and the US Capitol.
Trump could request the Guard be mobilized for federal duty…but the Governors must agree. The situation I am referring to with Barr having to swear Guard personnel in as Federal Marshals, was during the summer before elections when DC was under attack by anarchists. Even though the WH was surrounded and threatened, Trump got little cooperation. Even Milley spoke out against him.
I dont know what happened in Little Rock, or in J6, but at least since riots in the 60’s Presidents have been requested by Governors ( or the Mayor of DC) to assist in restoring order with the Guard under federal control and until Trump, they pretty much cooperated in starting the process of transferring the chain of command to the POTUS to do so. Although the Governor of Louisiana Blanco did try to screw Bush 43 by dithering and delaying requesting Guard fed mobilization during Katrina, while publicly accusing Bush of neglecting to assist in the disaster
This Texan says that Brandon can GF himself.
Oh, I think he's afraid of a lot more than that. The TNG/TANG and other state guards can actually take up arms against a US-led military invasion.
I'm not sure if the TNG/TANG are officially "militia." Texas has militias, both officially and un-officially.
I see a simple solution here: the day Brandon signs the executive order, every member of the Texas Guard resigns, and joins up with the newly created Texas Militia.
“”The TNG/TANG and other state guards can actually take up arms against a US-led military invasion.””
.
I had a gut feeling that very scenario was discussed by handlers for Perv-in-Chief Brandon.
It appears the progs were not prepared to go that far in an election year.
If the donk’s fraud is massive (yep) and the pubs one trick (roll over) is dusted off by the RINOS prepping for the TV cameras, they will have four more years free of any restraint.
If that becomes the case I would keep an eye on the Texas Panhandle - New Mexico (blue state / prog governor) border.
If Xiden starts massing troops around Clovis (Cannon AFB) or east of Tucumcari (or both) look out.
They will be making a run for Pantex.
That has some VERY nasty possabilities.
.
The Texas militia network has been in existence for many years now. The governors office is well aware of their existence.
Your post assumes Democrats care about right and wrong and are simply ignorant. I would posit the exact opposite.
Now we know, the Democrats released the hounds so it'll be easier for them to win the election in 2020. It was an effective strategy.
The Democrats are trying the same strategy this time with pro-Hamas protests. But the American public is tuning out this time.
