Sad. But in a neo pagan, hedonistic, decadent open culture, any organization that caters to young people such as schools, scouts, youth church groups attracts perverted child molesters as well. Decent, rational parents really must be diligent to the point where they can’t rust anyone or make any assumptions based on their prior experiences.
“Scouting for Boys” is more apropos...................
Political correctness is a very strong force in our culture.
So we see pressures to rename Boy Scouts to be just scouts, without any references to it being an organization for boys. After all, they muust be “inclusive”. That is more important than the reason for being of that organization .
Reminds me a bit of when the Campus Crusade for Christ changed their name to “cru”. That organization felt cimpelled to change because, #1, having the word “crusade” in their name can offend Moslems, and #2, any reference to Christ is offensive to a whole slew of assorted liberal types. So they felt the need to downplay the goals of trying to lead college students to Christ.
Now with updated brownshirts!
This decision will be the end of them.
I went through scouting because wanted to get away from my sister’s.
It a BOY’S club.
Leadership sold out the well being of the boys. Got it.
The more appropriate name would be “Perverts and Pedophiles Scouting of Amerika.”
This organization has been dead for about 10 years.
Glad I got out of Scouting when I did. The writing was on the wall even then.
