Hillary Clinton’s feminist Broadway musical Suffs is struggling at the box office despite receiving a bounty of Tony Award nominations and an outpouring of adulatory coverage from the mainstream news media.
Suffs — a nearly three-hour musical about the rise of the suffragette movement, featuring a cast comprised entirely of women and gender “non-binary” performers — played to 81 percent capacity last week, while dipping to 78 percent capacity the week before, according to data from The Broadway League.

Be elected President.
Interesting tidbit in the excerpt - how long does a musical normally run? It sounds like the mention of the running time is an excuse for lower attendance?
And yes, "Springtime for Hillary" would have been a better name.
The only other time I can think of the term
‘Suffragette’ being used in popular music was about 40 years ago, when Paul McCartney sang his song ‘Jet!”
Last sentence of the first verse went:
“And Jet, I thought the major was a lady suffragette!”
Even then, very few thought about what it meant.
Most likely, no meaning. Just a good rhyme with ‘Jet’.
If you had instead said, "Just bare women singing on a stage with a single piano as the musical accompaniment" I might have been tempted to buy a ticket. Any other scenario is a hard no.
SNUFFS i like it...
Vince foster song: Lay me down in Ft Marcy park,

The public’s in the dark,

three shots to the head I

needs work, but i think we gotta winner...
Bowie did “Suffragette City” back in the ‘70’s - working it’s way up to the lyric ‘Wham, Bam, thank you, Mam’ , if I recall correctly.
Oh, yes, he did indeed. That was a hard driving, horn blaring, good rock and roll song. Lots of energy.
I guess the name “Springtime for Hitler” was already taken
