1. Ignore the derisive language the AP uses.
2. I am a sworn election official (I work the polls) in GA; have been for years. My first election I worked was Reagan's first term.
3. I/we don't know EXACTLY what happened that 2020 night, but 'we' [local election officials not in Atlanta metro counties] observed(?) obvious loss of chain of custody 'evidence' when all the videos played out in the various media and hearings. Who knows what happened during the losses (gaps) in chain of custody. We run a tight ship in our county, all the numbers match, and we report on time.
4. The big changes here are good ones:
(a) improved language and rules for challenges. Reduces petty challenges and also makes the law harder to challenge via lawfare. Clarifies residence and eligibility.
(b) removing the QR codes and replacing them with machine and human readable marks on the printed ballots. People didn't trust the QR codes because you can't read them.
(c) permitting small counties (sparsely populated) to use paper ballots instead of incurring the expense (and staffing) of using the machines. It's a lot of pricey gear to vote electronically. Note well, a citizen CAN, on demand, vote on a paper ballot today. It's called a provisional vote. I am a provisional ballot lead and can tell you it is a nicely secure and managed process. It is however quite slow for the voter. You'll be there 15 minutes to get it done while we perform all the checks and verification. The provisional ballots are usually employed by people who have recently moved their address and the registration database hasn't caught up with the real estate contracts.
This new law along with prior updates does a great job of making Georgia vote results more credible *AND* provides a great paper and digital paper trail for audits, forensic or otherwise. We've talked among ourselves about it and don't see how a jurisdiction can cheat *EXCEPT* for allowing person A to show up and vote as person B, and Person B is a valid voter -- meaning the poll worker let a person cheat during in-person voting. EVERYTHING else is discoverable as far as we can tell.
ATLANTA (AP) — Gov. Brian Kemp signed legislation Tuesday that makes additional changes to Georgia's election laws ahead of the 2024 presidential contest in the battleground state, including defining probable causes for removing voters from the rolls when their eligibility is challenged.
Republican activists — fueled by debunked theories of a stolen election — have challenged more than 100,000 voters in the state in recent years. The activists say they are rooting out duplicate records and removing voters who have moved out of state.
High tech is the only way to steal a LANDSLIDE.
“Republican activists — fueled by debunked theories of a stolen election”
The ap can kiss my ass
From 2006, so we can't say we weren't warned...
Update: Is ‘vote flipping’ an e-voting problem or user error?
Yup, Ass Press at it again. “Denied mendaciously” is not the same as “debunked”.
Debuncked by the Crooked Communist Party but not by over half of Americans.
😉👌
And they wonder why the American People have only contempt for the Democrat Propaganda Machine (aka the "newsmedia")--and certainly do not trust it.
I can remember when the Associated Press was respected.
What happened????
Did they get a nutty female to head the stupid group?
That would take care of it.
Now, I see “Associated Press” and I either skip or LMAO.
AP = AssPress, as in they disrespect us by effectively mooning us through a closed window.
Debunked my...
”Debunked”
Riiiight.
Another article ends abruptly.

You might get together with other “efficient” smaller counties like your own and do nothing illegal...except to just not report your numbers until the traditionally Democrat lagging counties report their numbers first. The Demo counties that are always late in their counts are waiting for you smaller counties’ numbers first so they know how many fraud votes they need to manufacture to cheat with.
Kudo’s to you and your election team for running a good tight ship and getting the voting counts done early and the numbers reported early so everybody goes home at a decent hour. Too bad you were chumps in letting the late vote counties cheat you. There is nothing wrong with holding back vote numbers until the traditionally “late” counties report their final numbers first. If the screaming starts...be calm about it and simply say...Atlanta and surrounding counties like Fulton...you guys report first AND THEN AND ONLY THEN we will report ours!”
A few congressional races ago, a local county did just that, they held back final numbers and only reported them after all the other votes in the district were collected, the Pubbie won but you should have heard the screaming from the Democrats. The votes were legitimate but the Democrats couldn’t come up with any more illegitimate votes without looking like they were cheating. I read of a Judge race in Wisconsin where a similar thing happened where additional votes were reported the next day by a lady election official that gave the race to a Pubbie. The votes were legitimate but the Democrats had had to guess how may cheat votes to put in. When the last votes were put in by the county in question they recounted but the Dems couldn’t put in any more cheat votes without being exposed. The Pubbie was given the victory.
Thanks for posting, and, thanks for your devotion and volunteer hours, over the years, in working your GA county polls/elections, Blueflag.
Oh, a whole new set of laws for the left to ignore . . .
The law will be challenged in court shortly before the election, and will be set aside until the suit is settled well after the election. The court and judge will be carefully chosen to ensure that the leftists win.
They did this in Pennsylvania after a law was passed requiring photo ID prior to the 2012 election. The law was eventually ruled unconstitutional in 2014 using the standard argument that minorities are “disadvantaged” (i.e. too stupid or lazy) so that they can’t get an ID.
Now photo ID is only required for first time voters, and only when voting in person.
This is one of the techniques they use to steal elections.
Don’t you believe it even for a minute. The scanner refused my ballot 3 times last month in the GA primary. Then it finally stopped spitting it back out at me but the green button that says “cast” never lit up. I jokingly remarked that its probably because I didn’t vote for Biden and there was a lot of nervous laughter.
If an election is held in November which I highly doubt its going to be stolen.
One big change is:
“The bill also requires counties to report the results of all absentee ballots by an hour after polls close. It also lets counties use paper ballots in elections in which fewer than 5,000 people are registered, though that change will not take effect until 2025.”
The Democrats will not be able to see how many absentee ballots they need to create during the wee hours of the morning.
