Firearm-related crime is surging in heavily gun-controlled Canada, according to a report from Toronto Star contributor Shaquille Morgan.
Morgan pointed to data from Canadian police, noting “there were 9,198 victims of gun-related crime” in Canada in 2022.
The 2022 figures represented a ten percent jump in the rate of gun-related crime compared to 2021 and a 60 percent jump compared to 2013.
Morgan zeroed in on handguns, explaining that “63 per cent of gun-related homicides were committed with a handgun.”
Canada has stringent gun controls, and Morgan indicated they have gotten even more stringent during the past years. During that time frame “the federal government has expanded background checks, banned 1,500 models of assault weapons, imposed a national handgun freeze and committed $250 million to address the root causes of gun and gang violence.”

They will blame the USA.
Guns were taken from non-violent citizens but left in the hands of violent criminals.
So gun control is working?
Anarcho-tyranny.
The border is left wide open for handgun smuggling. And deliberately so.
While every gang shooting becones the rationale for yet more “gun control” against white rural gunowners.
Like many of our liberal cities and states, it has a lot to do with legalizing drugs, reducing or not offering bail, minimum or no jail time for convictions etc.
Cracking down on legal gun ownership is a diversion for liberal’s failings.
Hey, somebody forget to tell the Canadian Government that just disarming law abiding citizens but not disarming criminals doesn’t work ... by the way, tell that to the US Government also.
***banned 1,500 models of assault weapons,***
If it is anything like Bill Clinton’s AW ban in the US it is a joke.
They banned rifles by name. forced removal of the flash suppressor and bayonet lug (how many have been killed by flash suppressors and bayonets since 1900?)
banned the folding stock.
limited magazines to 10 rounds.
Some states even banned the pistol grip.
So the manufacturers changed the names of the rifles, and still sold them through out the “ban” as “Target rifles”. with a “fin” where the pistol grip was. easy to drill through.
Millions of 20-30 round magazines were still available, and if you knew where to look you could find a brand new 30 round magazine stamped “For Police Use Only”.
Bilingual signs say it.

This chart includes traffic offenses. I’m sure plenty of people in the desolate North West Territory speed from village to village all the time!
The red bars represent violent crime. Speeding is not considered a violent crime. Good try though. Perhaps a little less eye rolling on your part and a little more thinking.
The Canadian gun bans are not cosmetic.
it is basically any semi auto rifle with a detachable magazine. Also, the SKS is also banned.
Any semi auto shotgun that can use a detachable mag is banned.
Even large caliber single shots like the Ruger 1, and double rifles are banned. It’s actually worse than Britain, now.
anyone without the means of protecting self, friends, family, community is an irresponsible fool
including Canadians
Criminals don’t care about the laws and passing more laws that are even m ore restrictive for them to also ignore isn’t going to help either.
Trudeau is bringing all the world’s conflicts to Canada and Trudeau calls it Multiculturalism and he says it makes Canada better , he is a Wacko
I guess they’ll have to ban more guns right down to pop tarts and pointed fingers. /s
“An armed society is a polite society.”
You don’t remember all those drive-by bayonettings in the ‘hood in the early 1990s?
Yeah, me either.
