Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) supports retaliating against Republicans who oppose him, he reportedly told high-dollar donors at the swanky Four Seasons in Washington.
Johnson signaled to the high-powered group at a fundraiser on Sunday that he would support kicking members who blocked his coalition government’s legislative agenda off committees. He also said he is in favor of changing House rules – such as rules on the motion to vacate – at the end of this Congress

I still think McCarthy had a deal with Johnson/team to do exactly what is being should McCarthy be voted out. This is too seamlessly planned not to have the deal. McCarthy knew the Conservatives wanted Jordon or someone similar. They voted no until Johnson came along. Was the plan all along. Johnson,s revenge is McCarthy’s revenge. Everyone should be calling Johnsons office 24/7 and demand he resign. He is not fit to serve.

The Bill...HR2 was passed by the House May 2023 and forwarded to the Senate. Schumer will not bring it up for a vote. It’s been posted over and over...Go after the Senate...the House did their job and Johnson has nothing to do with the present status.

And that time will be AFTER the 2024 elections after which a decent number of current RINOs will have been replaced by MAGA candidates and the House has bigger Reputation majorities. The more MAG Republican caucus can pick someone more trustworthy such as Jordan.

With the GOP’s razor-thin margin of control, Republicans can only afford a handful of defections on rule votes, which are typically passed on a partisan basis. It was once unthinkable to have a member of the majority vote against a rule. But hardline Republicans — even those serving on the Rules Committee — have made it practice. Control of the Rules Committee is how the speaker controls the floor.
