Medvedev gives warning amid talk of deploying Western troops to Ukraine

MOSCOW, May 6. /TASS/. The deployment of Western troops to Ukraine would be akin to these countries declaring war on Russia, and lead to a catastrophe on a global scale, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Sending their troops to the territory of former Ukraine will mean their direct involvement in the war. We will have to respond to this. And, alas, not on the territory of former Ukraine," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

He added that in this case, Western leaders "won’t be able to hide on Capitol Hill, or in the Elysee Palace, or on 10 Downing Street." "A global catastrophe will ensue," Medvedev concluded.

Macron announced this yesterday - France is sending the Foreign Legion to the front lines in Ukraine. Their claim is that only the officers are French The rest are foreign, and many of the troops are Ukrainian and Russian.

That should prove to be interesting.

I predict the French foreign Legion will be buried on Ukrainian soil. They don’t have a large enough force or the weapons needed to fight this war. The feeble leaders from the west are trying to start WWIII. It won’t end well for either side if that happens. It must be part of their population control program.

The Foreign Legion—The tip of the spear will face Russia’s best. Better send in the French air force to give them air support ASAP. Even a few divisions will not turn the tide at this point. Does France have the stomach for a grim and bitter fight? Does the USA?

Regarding the French Army, French Foreign Legion (FFL), 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (3e Régiment Étranger d’Infanterie, 3e REI):

It is stationed in French Guiana - on the South Atlantic Coast of South America. The regiment is a jungle regiment.

Current structure of the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment

The regiment is divided (in 2024) into 4 companies. It comprises nearly 500 officers and legionnaires (usually assigned to the regiment for two years), including a small number of non-Legion military personnel. Some 160 men form rotational units (these men are provided by the Legion or French regular forces) and usually rotate every four months. A reserve company consisting of non-Legion reservists is also attached to the 3e REI.

The 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment is a military reserve unit tasked with several missions. First, the regiment protects the Guiana Space Center, a French and European spaceport located at Kourou (this mission has been called Operation Titan since 2008). Second, it ensures the territorial integrity of French Guiana and its security, which means patrolling the Guiana forest and taking action against foreign illegal gold diggers (Operation Harpie since 2008).

Finally, the 3e REI operates the famous Jungle Training Center (Centre d’Entraînement en Forêt Equatoriale, CEFE) in Regina (since 1986), where hard military jungle training courses are organized for legionnaires, French troops, and foreign soldiers from allied armies (an international jungle training course called JAGUAR).

The regiment is attached to the Abroad & Overseas Specialized HQ (EMSOME) together with the DLEM.

In 2024, the 3e REI is composed of:

HQ & Logistics Company (Compagnie de Commandement et de Soutien, CCS)

• Jungle Training Center (CEFE)
• Specific Maritime Support Platoon (Section d’Appui Nautique Spécifique, SANS)
• Dismounted Action Support Platoon (Section Aide à l’Engagement Débarqué, SAED)

2nd Infantry Company (2e Compagnie de d’Infanterie, 2e CIE)

3rd Infantry Company (3e Compagnie de d’Infanterie, 3e CIE)

NATO isn't doing anything. Medvedev, speaking for Putin, is showing Putin's desperation and engaging in the kind of threats and nuclear blackmail usually reserved for villains in Bond movies.

If anybody is trying to start WWIII it is Putin and his pals in Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.

But Putin doesn't really want to start WWIII because he'll lose it in days, and suffer the consequences.
