And the friggin’ Palis wonder why they are hated!

Each and everyone of those protesters should be given a one-way ticket to Iran.

Sadly, the state colleges are down to, on average, teaching at what would have been the middle-school level a couple of decades ago. They are taking pretty much any body they can attach a loan from Uncle Sam to at this point.

Education is not about graduation ceremonies.

These days, education is barely about education.

My oldest grandchild is graduating from Wake Forest in 2 weeks. I asked him if there were any protests going on and he said “we don’t do that here”.
His high school graduation was online but the next year the school held a regular ceremony for anyone that could make it. He went to private school so the class was pretty small but most of the former students showed up. Afterwards, they held an enormous party.

I don’t think reporters today check further into anything. They just hear a story and run with it. The news today is all about clicks and selling ads.

No one would read a news story about the big ceremony being cancelled but the smaller ceremonies (where students cross the stage) still happening.

Anyway, good catch! You’re right.

Here’s what Columbia is saying:

They got screwed by covid. Now by Hamas.

Sure, there are some competitive flagship state universities.

But MSU is the largest state college in MI and it is running an 88% acceptance rate. Then there are the regional state colleges in MI, etc.

Thank you. Fortunately most Freepers and people of my generation know how to read and write. These skills seem to be lacking in many younger people. Texting is not really reading nor writing. And most barely read beyond the headlines. They are all so very busy.

That was my point. I was talking about state colleges generally, not the few top flagship state universities.

Jeesh!
