A Cessna 172 Skyhawk could operate off that “runway” (If surface is smooth and suitable) but more than a few have failed to clear obstacles with even more runway depending on loading, ambient temperature, wind conditions, etc. So safer to go with a STOL configuration and tundra tires in case you need to bounce off the terrain past the end of the runway a time or two.

San Joaquin River Viaduct...I was thinking that a viaduct had to pass over another road, but maybe not.
An aqueduct carries water; it’s not a bridge over water.
So I guess a viaduct “carries” a road.

That’s a very fast bridge.

You forgot to add in the track, train. electricity, train stations, etc! Might as well just double your figure. 3,630,000,000,000.00

I guess the people in California are really that stupid.

I wonder where the $11 billion has really gone? Sen. Dianne Feinstein's husband Richard Blum got contracts to build it - I hear their family own some really expensive mansions and resorts.
In San Francisco, money allocated for the high-speed rail downtown station was diverted into building an elevated park that runs several blocks - now they're begging for more money to build the downtown station which is a big hole in the ground.
Other money went into new stations, building overhead track elevated above intersections, and shifting existing diesel trains to electrified trains - much of which is incomplete or unused.
The same thing of shifting funds around is going on throughout the state. This system will take until the year 2400 to be completed!

Has to be Jerry Brown. This whole rail nonsense started with him.

It looks like a lot more sense was used building the tracks to the right of this boondoggle.

California has a LING history of unfinished bridges to nowhere. The 680 / 280 interchange in San Jose sat like this for years before being completed and was mercilessly derided.

No way THAT cost $11 billion dollars to make. At LEAST half of that money went to corruption and bribery
