Kinda surprised Israel can’t make enough ammo for their needs. I’d think after supply issues dating back to their reformation as a country would have dictated a domestic supply source.
October 7th might be the moment that they realize they are truly on their own, except for God.
It could just be for show to pressure to cut a deal. It could be they have massive stockpiles and over-ask.
With the Hamas rocket attack on the humanitarian aid crossing yesterday, and Hamas stealing the aid trucks from Jordan the day before maybe the breakdown peace talks are falling apart and this deal will be reversed. Or maybe double downed.

The used to. They made good ammo too, and exported it. Over time though, we gave them so much money for munitions that had strings attached: they had to use those funds to buy ours. They should never have trusted us.
American ‘aid’ to Israel is actually bribes to senior Israeli military, intelligence, and politicians to NOT be independent of America, and to not be an international competitor of American Military Industrial Complex.
They can assemble things. But they probably just do not have the capability of mining all the things they would need to build ammo on a large scale. To my knowledge Israel does not produce any steel, they don’t mind copper they don’t have all the precursors to build the explosives and ammo. It’s a very small country. If they had an ammunition factory with that kind of capability, Today we would probably be talking about nations putting an embargo on copper, steel, machine tools, etc.
The thing is, Israel has a population of only 9.3 million but Hamas and Hezbollah have weapons supplied by Iran and other oil rich Middle-Eastern governments and organizations - weaponry of a sophistication and quantity that they could never produce on their own. So, even though Israel has sophisticated weapons manufacturing capability, it’s difficult to match their enemies, just on quantity.
Which is why France is self-sufficent for their military needs.
It would be cheaper if they buy it directly from the U.S. and just buy NATO standard.
But they know they cannot be truly independent if they have to depend on the Americans for the arms.
What a piece of shit!!!!.....
They do have a robust supply. I suppose it it’s a lot of ammo.
