Catholics' support swings for Trump over Biden by significant margin: Pew Research Poll

Catholics in the U.S. have swung dramatically against President Biden in recent years, now boasting a significant statistical break towards his GOP challenger.

Pew Research released on Apr. 30 a report exploring support for presidential candidates sorted by religious affiliation.

The poll found that 55% of Catholics support or lean towards supporting former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head against Biden.

Conversely, only 43% of Catholics support Biden in the same one-on-one pairing.

The 12% margin of support in favor of Trump marks a significant shift from 2020, when he held an extremely narrow lead — 50% to 49%.

Biden currently leads among Hispanic Catholics with a narrow 49%-47% split, but the close contest marks a major shift rightward for the demographic. In 2020, a similar poll from Pew Research found Hispanic Catholics preferred Biden to Trump with a staggering 67%-26% split.

Approximately 60% of protestants expressed support for Trump, according to the April survey. Conversely, about 38% said they leaned toward Biden.

Atheists, agnostics, and the religiously unaffiliated broke in favor of Biden by a large margin — approximately 69% said they would back the Democratic incumbent while only 28% voiced support for Trump.

Any true Christian, Catholic or Protestant, cannot support Biden and/or the Democrat party. The platform of today’s modern Democrat Party is wholly incompatible with Christianity.

Catholic Charities has been corrupted by democrats who took over the lay positions and by naive bishops raised in old democrat families.

Catholic Charities still does admirable and extensive charitable work, but its administrators and leaders seem to care little about saving souls and more about advancing progressive, socialist political objectives.

I know what you mean, but votes very much mattered in 2020, primarily the fraudulent ones. And in 2024 they will matter even more as hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants become eligible for free healthcare services and are issued drivers licenses along with voter registration papers and instructions how they are to be used.

There are a significant number of women who do not want the government legislating about their pregnancies. Some of them are called Catholic. They may never abort their own children but shy away from legislation that would have the government force a woman against her will not to murder the baby in her own womb. They may even be ignorant of what an abortion really does to women, who then have to live with the legacy of killing their own baby in their womb. They learn later, with sadness unless their conscience is seared (which happens to women as it does to men). Human beings are killers, except they are redeemed.

Cathy Charities is a two branched charity - national and local. They really are two separate entities.

Many years ago my oldest brother, who was a Deacon in the Catholic Church, advised me to not donate to the national CC’s fund raisers. The local CC’s are great. They run food banks, clinics, etc., and are run by local people.
