Me too. I had to shoot a dog that was leading a pack about 40 years ago. The pack had already ripped an ear off of one of our calves, the tail off of another, and was after a third one. After I got the leader, the rest never came back.
I told my husband that I would never do it again and if a dog needed shooting, he could do it. That has haunted me for 40 years. I like dogs a lot more than I do cows but if you let them keep doing it, the next time it might be a kid. I won’t be the one doing it though. If it had been one of my dogs, I would have taken it to the Vet for the shot. My dogs have all been well trained and are not aggressive except to squirrels and rabbits. They’ll shake the stuffings out of those in a heartbeat.
My wife is a Democrat who voted for Trump and Noem is the “Excrement List” right now for VP.
The headline is deceptive. She didn't say it was "fake news" that she shot her dog and a goat--she fully admits to it. She was referring to the fake news media that will twist and manipulate a story to make a person they don't like look as bad as possible.
I heard her explanation on Hannity last night and it all makes sense.
Once a dog kills a chicken or bites a person, it is dangerous and needs to be put down. Her method is irrelevant. It was as humane as a killing can be.
But I don’t understand the story of her goat.
PS Listening to Hannity was not my choice, it was because of an accidental association.
I think she purposely came out with this story to show how she’s a tough practical woman strong enough to be VP and lead the nation should it come to that. Obviously that plan backfired.
If she knows that's how the media operates, then why did she write about this incident in her book? Why give them a gift like this?

If I understand the full context of what she wrote, an unsuppervised one-year old puppy at worst killed a chicken. Having owned both chickens and hunting dogs, I can say from personal experience that you may simply need to keep them apart. The fact that she shot and killed a puppy shows that she is a cold-hearted witch. The fact that she published the experience in a book she wrote shows that she is too stupid for positions of responsibility.
If the dog was killing the neighbors chickens then she had the responsibility to shot the dog. We warned our neighbors that their dog was running our cattle, which could result in them breaking their legs in a groundhog den or such.
Then when it happened again our dad took out his rifle and shot it dead then told them it was put on the roadside outside the fencing.

I think they are attacking her because of fear. Look at the Biden Administration, the Marxist State Media, the Deep State, the Educational Institutions and the Uni-Party .... what if people applied the “put them down” solution to the hundreds of thousands of “less than worthless” employees of those institutions.

She is a huntress who kills animals for fun. She had a naturally low threshold for killing the dog and the goat and likely even welcomed the opportunity.
