Scary. The police have to be able to know where the crowd is at all times. If the crowd is to the sides and behind the police when they take action, they police are in deep trouble.

A good point...I am watching KCAL TV coverage...One of the anchors stated that cops may not do anything after all...

Or cops are waiting for some Hamas supporters to go home on their own...

They can’t move in on the camp if their flank is unprotected. They are probably constantly reassessing. Maybe waiting for reinforcements You could be right that they are waiting (hoping) some of the supporters outside the camp will tire and go home.

Another tactic may be to disperse the outside crowd first. Leave the camp for now: but get everyone else out. Then secure the campus and move in on the encampment.
