“Science” is a tool for making money and getting a prestigious job.
And, by the way, people need to bring it all the way back to Evolution. Which is also junk science. It’s just considered somewhat respectable because the scam is so old.

There was a series of papers some researchers believe used doctored (pun intended) images to show results in Alzheimer’s disease research.
It’s said that wasted years of research efforts to find a way to cure or prevent the disease:

Correct, evolution is when science was set up to be used as a tool for state propoganda.
Abiogenesis is especially faked. There is no mechanism where living things can appear spontaneously. The mathematical odds are beyond astronomic.
when I was 14, I read Stanley Milligrams’ “Obedience to Authority’, in many ways it set my course especially in my distrust of so called “experts”.

The fastest way to get tax payer dollars is to become and “expert in the climate scam or trannyism.
None of the three most cited papers have released their raw data, which allows critical conclusions to be drawn without much serious examination.
All three were published in the same journal.

The scientific method is science. Scientists are just people with opinions and po.itical views like everyone else.

Publications used to be the coin of the academic realm. Now, number of times your publication is cited in other publications is a key to survival in non-tenured universe. Naturally this leads to collusion and quid pro quo. Being listed as a “co-author” in exchange for services is also a common tactic.
I used to have lots of links from articles in the 1970s, to “experts” who said we were interring THE COMING ICE AGE!
Now so many of those links lead to “404 Page not found”.
