How Far Trump Would Go
Time ^ | April 30, 2024 | Eric Cortellessa

Posted on 05/01/2024 6:57:56 AM PDT by Reno89519

Donald Trump thinks he’s identified a crucial mistake of his first term: He was too nice.

We’ve been talking for more than an hour on April 12 at his fever-dream palace in Palm Beach. Aides lurk around the perimeter of a gilded dining room overlooking the manicured lawn. When one nudges me to wrap up the interview, I bring up the many former Cabinet officials who refuse to endorse Trump this time. Some have publicly warned that he poses a danger to the Republic. Why should voters trust you, I ask, when some of the people who observed you most closely do not?

As always, Trump punches back, denigrating his former top advisers. But beneath the typical torrent of invective, there is a larger lesson he has taken away. “I let them quit because I have a heart. I don’t want to embarrass anybody,” Trump says. “I don’t think I’ll do that again. From now on, I’ll fire.”

Six months from the 2024 presidential election, Trump is better positioned to win the White House than at any point in either of his previous campaigns. He leads Joe Biden by slim margins in most polls, including in several of the seven swing states likely to determine the outcome. But I had not come to ask about the election, the disgrace that followed the last one, or how he has become the first former—and perhaps future—American President to face a criminal trial. I wanted to know what Trump would do if he wins a second term, to hear his vision for the nation, in his own words.

...

[This is a very very long interview and article.]

An interview with Trump. Long.

Note the capture under the cover photo! The former President, at Mar-a-Lago on April 12, is rallying the right at home and seeking common cause with autocratic leaders abroad.

I'm still reading. There are some interesting quotes. Worth reading.

How far will [they] go to prevent Trump from going. That is the question.

We have to get him reelected - he’s America’s only hope.

A “third” Trump term will involve many Bolsheviks (like Eric Cortellessa) being sent to underground labs to become subjects in human centipede experiments.

Execution by lethal injection or firing squad is much too merciful. This time, the Globohomo Deep State scumbags are going to pay. /spit

If people vote for Trump and then just sit back and expect miracles, that won’t work.

Trump assumed that the permanent government personnel were mostly regular folks who were doing their jobs.

Turns out they were a genetic blend of cobra, viper, rattlesnake and black mamba.

The big news from this article that the Leftists will cling to is his statement about some “anti-White” stuff happening. It is obviously true, but watch the lefties predictably attack him for it.

I hope Trump wins but if he does prepare for violence.

I’d bet all the money in my wallet the shenanigans of the BLMTIFA crowd will resume and be 10x worse. Maybe even a low wage civil war. I mean look at how awful they are acting now over the Palestinian thing and Biden is one of their own.

You have to understand the obstacles.

The focus is drain the swamp. Taxes don’t matter. Spending doesn’t matter. The Wall and the Swamp matter.

But the obstacles to both are enormous. He will have to be very clever.

No political careerists in positions. Float their names during the period from Election Day to Inauguration. Talk about all these well known Washington Swamp filth people who may occupy cabinet positions, but do nothing until sworn in.

At that point, strictly Independents and business people Washington has never heard of. They will never get confirmed by the Senate, so they will have to be interim appointments — and their jobs are to drain the Swamp.

Senior bureaucrats will be removed from their positions and given desks far from the agency leadership positions. You cannot fire them. Civil Service protections, but they can be removed from their jobs and nearly all will not last 4 years doing nothing. They will retire.

Then explicitly fill agency positions with MAGA. Elevate and promote MAGA. This has to be done in every Cabinet agency.

End daily press briefings. That will end the jobs of most of those reporters, and support staff.

His people, none of whom come from Washington and thus none of whom are known to reporters, won’t be getting calls for quotes every day. No one will know them. They can erase all the EO driven regulations and not reverse them, end them. Conservatism is not taking government action, it is government doing no actions, because government action intrudes into life.

As long as he can retain 40 votes in the Senate, no impeachment can ever succeed.

This time around Trump needs to immediately fire all appointed and SES workers that are within his immediate authority. Fire them all and start over. Otherwise Trump 2.0 is doomed.

Hi bass speaker for over a year now, whichever side wins in november, how is the other side going to take it?

This is one of many reasons for my tagline.

I think of the quote attributed to Adm. Yamamoto after Pearl Harbor …..”we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with terrible resolve”

True but it is a talking subject to keep the topic in
front of the public thus hoping to influence votes.

Yeah ... making policy depends on winning more votes, and that often derives from fundraising.

no matter how far Trump is willing to go, it won’t be far enough to undo the dameage the Left has done to the nation, unless he is willing to declare a national emergency and then take it from there. But I think we saw what Trump was willing to do in the Summer of 2020 when BLM and Antifa rioted acrosss the nation. What Trump was willing to do was nothing!

Why did Trump give Time an interview? The interviewer did not waste anytime in getting to his hatchet with his own input to draw a dictator narrative
