Americans have been sour on the economy since President Joe Biden was sworn into office. As we head into an election season that is likely to be a 2020 rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump, voters give Republicans and Trump an edge on economic issues. An April 12-14 poll from Echelon Insights found that 57 percent of all voters somewhat or strongly disapproved of the way Biden is handling the economy, and favored Trump on making the economy work better by 48 percent to 40 percent. That's only a recent example of what surveys have routinely shown: Voters aren't happy with Biden's handling of the economy.
But what exactly are voters disapproving of? What do they mean when they talk about the economy? Therein lies a disconnect between most economic indicators that economists consider — things like GDP, the unemployment rate, job growth and inflation — which are all looking up, and how voters feel. When voters measure economic well-being, they're much more likely to use more personal metrics, such as how easily their family can meet their basic needs. That can be more of a feeling than an exact calculation, and right now, the Biden reelection campaign is battling the general sense that everything has gotten a little bit worse.

These dumbass reporters don’t ever leave inside the DC BELTWAY.
Ding ding; we have the winner of the most rhetorical question of the year.
Yeah, we boomers have our share of blame...WWII gen simply only knew from what previous generations had taught them...there was no means of communication/organization the way there is today, everything was local.
By your comment I assume you are of one of the post-boomer gens.
Since you are willing to place blame on past generations, allow me to ask you something.
The post boomer LEFT have answered the call of their puppet-masters brain-fornicating, loud and proud....
...where is the post-boomer RIGHT?
You can hate on us all you want...when the 'boomer right are all but out of the electorate, kiss the Republican party (conservative anyway) bye bye.
Yes, you've been handed a shit sandwich. Many of us of the 'boomer gen were too handed a shit sandwich, later in our life... with greedy/crooked financier induced recessions, sub-prime/other housing crashes, out/in-sourcing of our livelihoods/pensions...there was some fight (tea party/MAGA) but not nearly enough, too little too late perhaps.
The past is gone, you cannot relive/change it...you have to deal with what is, not what you want/wanted it to be.
You want things to be different...then LEARN from our mistakes, and ACT!
...don't dwell on what's been/not been done.
...I can guarantee you(from experience), that'll get you/yours nowhere.
The enemy is a small but very powerful sect of wealthy blood-thirsty financiers(parasites) who have basically taken over the major institutions that make our country/western world tick.
Find them, remove them like the cancer they are.
Don't wait for the legal system or politicians to do this for you...they've been neutralized/bought-off by 'said malignant tumors.
...there is YOUR "Hope and Change"...to right the wrongs of those of us before you.
WE didn't light the fire...'obviously should have done more by extinguishing the arsonists of OUR time.
That was then...this is now.
Well gosh golly let me see...
Under Trump I got a home loan at 3.12%. Now I’d be lucky to get one an 7.5%.
It used to take $50 to fill up my tank. Now it’s $110.
Groceries have gone up so much that we have had to change how we cook for the family using far cheaper foodstuffs and recipes.
I work with people who have to have TWO full time jobs to pay the bills.
Things were FAR better off under Trump.
That’s why.
That headline is right up there with "It was a dark and stormy night", or maybe "Dear Penthouse"
Bifurcated economy. Those things that directly benefit from deficit government spending like government employees, defense, road building and the like, doing smashingly.
Anything else, not so good.
Unfortunately in the end, all of the anything else will end up bailing out the rest.
You learn in Statistics classes that precision and accuracy are two very different things.

If what you are saying is right, then perhaps America was a mirage all along...or simply is like every other empire, meteoric rise, equal fall...from lethargy/greed/gluttony....
>
One merely needs to look @ our own History to note such a truth (hell, just REF: The Whiskey Rebellion)

A: 3rd party/sitting it out, wondering where/why those before ‘em allowed it all to go to Hell. *shrug*
But, I’ve ‘dealt’ w/ it since realizing early in life the faux dichotomy isn’t for *poop*. Soon to have the house PIF, no other debts & stocking up on things I believe necessary for what’s coming (& that can be easily passed on w/o the hand of govt knowing)
Least I understand nobody’s VOTING their way back to what was lost. C’est la vie.
