National salad month
I didn’t know that ! funny there is a day/week/month for anything imaginable
When I try to list my favorite salads … I like so many…it’s difficult
To list my top three or one? Not possible
Here’s my list of top dozen
favorites . And when I make them they’re different every time
Caprese
Cole slaw
Caesar
Egg salad
Potato
Pasta
Greek
Fruit
Wild green and butter lettuce
Spinach
Pizza salad
Taco salad
(Oh and then there’s chicken, tuna, ham and seafood salad)
I could list my top 25!
I have salad usually 3-4 time a week and it’s usually my only meal of day.. not a tiny side salad
One important note: the ingredients are of course important and we all should use artistic privilege to add or subtract what we like OR don’t like.
But maybe more important are the dressings and spices/ herbs we incorporate
Don’t ever go bargain basement on either
I once made all my salad dressings. Now i do now and then but frankly there are a slew of quality commercial dressings available that use high quality ingredients. A favorite of mine is Brianna. In Ohio at Heinen’s store I would look for BOGO and stock up.

Cottonball sent me home with a lot of leftover food from her dinner party. Finished most the past two days.
So this am started prepping for tomorrow’s main course salad. So far have done Romane, sweet onions, red pepper, celery, (have slaw bag); will add feta, pecans, avocado, tomato n dressing that tickles my fancy at last minute.
About a week ago my son asked me why we have so many salad dressings in frig and pantry shelfs

There are so many variations of potato , pasta , egg, chicken, seafood, tossed green salad etc. Use your imagination and have fun experimenting.

And then we gave the greens…some use only iceberg. That’s truly okay but there’s a lot more out there! Learn how to properly wash and prep your greens and other add ons. A warm wilty green is not very exciting.
