I recall that now about Spalding.
I didn’t when I made my comment.
Thanks for reminding me. It has been a few years since I saw that movie.
95% urban and suburban and small towns
Indeed
I bet u have
I shot a dying American bulldog girl 8 years ago who’d killed our old cat of 20 years in front of my wife while she was in the jacuzzi
It was brutal
We decided sugar had to go and given sugar herself wasn’t in good shape and I decided to do it myself rather than call your equivalent
I gave her a ton of trazadone and took her to barn with my 16 year old boy and fed her her fav treats
I used a 44
Cranium
It was instant
I can tell you this I’ll never do that again
I really love my dogs and it was a mistake on my part
Whatever you give them?
I’m guessing strong sedative then potassium ?
Anyhow it was just too violent despite the instant death
I’ve only cried once as a man
When a car got my fav rottie becket in 2014
I’ve always got several dogs
No idea why noem included this
She is cute though
No worries. I’ve probably seen too many Marx Brothers movies over the years.
I realize that this is a political issue to many here; but it’s not to me.
I don’t have an opinion on who Trump should choose. I assume he will choose whomever he wants.
To me this is just a farm story.
My 25 year old son and I have been watching all those great comedies that men appreciate and women hate.
I need to add that one and Duck Soup to the list.
One of the channels has been showing a lot of Charlie Chaplin silent films recently. My wife hates them, so I tape them for later.
My son was up visiting last weekend. He asked us if we had ever seen the movie “Deliverance” ? We both said yes, but it had been a long time.
So, we watched it. I guess I had never seen it totally uncut before. The whole “squeal like a pig” and “you got a purty mouth” scene was much longer than I remember it.
I'm sure that you are responsible enough to not allow your dog to roam free where she could kill a small animal or a young child. I wonder how you would react if she were to kill or maim a young child or kill your neighbor's cat or small dog?
You know, that’s one movie I never have seen. Read the novel by Walker Percy long ago, and I very seldom watch a film version of a book I enjoyed.
As I recall, that scene was not particularly graphic or drawn out in the book. Leave it to Hollywood.
It was not that drawn out. They also did not show anything.
You just heard the grunts being made by Ned Beatty. Plus they showed him in his tighty whites will the hillbilly behind him. It was just the fact that in the previous times I had seen the film, much of that scene was edited out.
It is funny how Ned Beatty was known for that one scene in one of the 160 different movies that he was in over his long career. He was such a good character actor that he was literally in more movies than almost every other actor ever. Yet, he was never a leading man.
James Dickey.
It was similar to watching the edited version of “Blazzing Saddles”. It is just not as funny because they have to edit out all the dirty jokes and references to the sheriff.
“The sheriff is a N...”
“He said the sheriff is near.”
but you really knew what they were saying.
About 20 years ago I saw what was being done to Blazing Saddles when it was shown on TV, even cable channels, so we bought a DVD of it. Might be time to watch it again soon.
They won’t even say the name of Lili von Shtupp on TV showings these days.
You are right, of course; it was written by James Dickey. I don’t know why I was thinking of Walker Percy.
How embarrassing.
I didn’t know who wrote it; I just knew that Percy didn’t sit right in my mind :-)
Yes, I am responsible enough to not allow my dog to roam free where she could kill a small animal or child. Too bad Kristi Noem isn’t.
Wasn’t really funny, I WAS naked.
One of my best friends is a vet. We hold her close, figuratively. She’s a very sensitive person. She gets upset easily. We are farm people. We give anecdotes to give her strength. It hurts her when she puts a dog or cat down.
