I shot a dying American bulldog girl 8 years ago who’d killed our old cat of 20 years in front of my wife while she was in the jacuzzi
It was brutal
We decided sugar had to go and given sugar herself wasn’t in good shape and I decided to do it myself rather than call your equivalent
I gave her a ton of trazadone and took her to barn with my 16 year old boy and fed her her fav treats
I used a 44
Cranium
It was instant
I can tell you this I’ll never do that again
I really love my dogs and it was a mistake on my part
Whatever you give them?
I’m guessing strong sedative then potassium ?
Anyhow it was just too violent despite the instant death
I’ve only cried once as a man
When a car got my fav rottie becket in 2014
I’ve always got several dogs
No idea why noem included this
She is cute though
I spent a career going down to the "humane society" and doing their dirty work for them pro bono saving the facility literally hundreds of thousands of dollars. Ten years putting down ~75 animals a week...I'm glad I no longer do this as it takes quite a toll on one's psyche. I used euthanasia solutions, anesthetics and K+ or magnesium sulfate until the DEA began to regulate many of the drugs obsessively and charging exorbitant license fees which made it no longer feasible to do the job pro bono. Even though I saved the facility hundreds of thousands of dollars and allowed many animals to be saved, the negative publicity thrown around by hateful people that only wished to hurt me was significant. I've been retired five years now and still have PTSD from the practice but it's getting much better. It is no wonder that veterinarians have the highest suicide rate among professionals.
