🎥 Russian troops have evacuated the first US-made M1 Abrams tank from the front line near Avdeyevka, Chief Press Officer of Russia’s Battlegroup Tsentr Alexander Savchuk told Sputnik.
According to him, soon everyone will be able to see the trophy at an exhibition of NATO equipment captured in the special military operation zone on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.

We’ve got 3700 old model Abrams tanks in storage. Branodon only sent 31 to Ukriane because they are highly effective and he doesn’t want the Ukrainians marching on Moscow like Prigozhin did.

As Russians say, Russian tanks are built for war. American tanks are built to export.
To: lodi90
yes, effective when not downgraded, and when used correctly like one poster pointed out upthread- but what we exported evidently are neutered tanks- armor-wise that is

Speaking of drones, All the drones I have seen from all over the world look alike.
I have not seen any ‘stealthy’ drones that resemble a F-117 or similar.
A couple weeks ago I read an article it is rumored that some F-117s were being re-outfitted as drones................

Russia has had huge success in drone ECM. In fact, the video on Russia’s MASSIVE tank production’s factories show specifically dedicated hard mounts on areas for drone ECM units. They leave the facilities with wiring, mounts, etc. ready for the units to be installed in the field.
You tube has few videos, worth pulling up. They currently have “ the jump” in this technology. The West will no doubt develop their own- but when?
I attended Ft Moores M1 live fire events this weekend, none of their SEP upgrades have anti- drone equipment, and the crews are unaware of any upgrades. They better get busy.

They are not meant to be used as the UKR mil uses them. They are meant to be part of a combined arms maneuver unit which includes air support that UKR does not currently have. They had that opportunity during fall and early of 2022. So why didn't they keep pushing? Did they run out of ammo?

Maybe I missed it, but the game has not changed. Am I missing something??
Your 4th grader has been getting beat up by the neighborhood 8th grade bully. He's got a old wooden bat, so you buy your kid a new metal bat.
Who do you expect to win? Maybe your kid will get a lucky hit in, or the big bully might decide to go beat up someone else, but if there is a fight, are you betting money on your kid or the bully here?

The rumor is almost certainly wrong. The F-117's stealth design was the extreme first of such. Newer designs have better stealth characteristics, better materials, and a smoother design allowing for better stability and control. The blocky design was the best they could do at the time without massive computer power required for high-fidelity stealth design analysis.

The downgraded armor also explains why Russia is blowing up so many Ukrainian Abrahams tanks.
And what's the count on Abrams actually destroyed? Pretty sure it's extremely low compared to Russian losses. And the armor doesn't explain anything - most of these losses aren't from rpgs/AT rounds or tanks fighting, they're from mine's or crews leaving open hatches for drones to drop ordnance into. A fully armored Abrams isn't gonna function very well if the amateur crew lets a grenade drop into the open door...

What appear to be a F-117 or a smaller version have been spotted flying over Nevada..............

There’s lots of random stuff spotted flying around. The overall planform might be similar for a new vehicle, but it’s not going to be the same jagged straight edges. Stealthy shaping can be designed nowadays much smoother for better results

And what's the count on Abrams actually destroyed? If you want to believe Wikipedia, which I do for non-political stuff, 5 of 31 Abrams have been destroyed.

Did you miss the part of my comment about air support? Did you notice they had no F-16s to do SEAD and still do not?

Here's what I do follow. For two years, we've been told that the Ruskies are being annihilated, that Putin has multiple diseases and is scheduled to die at any moment, that the Ruskies are running out of missiles, and on and on and on -- all while every new shipment to Ukieland is a massive "game changer." NOT!
All a series of one big lie after another to show that our trillion-dollar military can defeat any small country on the planet -- which the facts show is just another big fat series of lies.
Oh, don't forget the massive and "mother of all sanctions" to bring the Ruskies to their knees -- only they backfired! The Ruskies are advancing economically while their European neighbors are spiraling into stagflation (like us).
Now add that to the lies of the last sixty years, like Vietnam (commies coming to get us), Iraq (WMDs everywhere), and Afghanistan (no one left behind), just to name a few, and how can any sane human come up with any other conclusion?
Oh, I get it. They're not sane!
