There may be other options. For any conservative candidate, trying to triangulate the issue as in option #1 won't work, because the Leftist Media won't allow it.
Option #2 is also a stretch for a conservative, since the media won't allow that either.
And of course, Option #3 is considered to be suicide by many on this forum. I admit that acknowledging that "honesty" is considered stupid, self-destructive, and naive by people I might consider my allies is disconcerting and depressing to me.
John Adam's famous quote "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." is one that I keep in mind, and I can't see how being immoral to achieve political success will work in this country. It would only seem to me to invite more immorality.
I get fully this is a "straight jacket" that the Left likes to use on conservatives, and nothing will change there. That's politics. How do we get by that? I thought Trump's acceptance and approval of sending it BACK to the States (where it SHOULD have never, ever left) is the best option, IMO.
