U.S. troops have begun construction of a pier to be used to bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, the Pentagon confirmed Thursday.
“I can confirm that U.S. military vessels, to include the USNS Benavidez, have begun to construct the initial stages of the temporary pier and causeway at sea,” Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said.
The news came on the same day Palestinian terrorists fired mortars at United Nations officials as they toured the proposed pier site, as Breitbart News reported.

What’s the over/under on how long it will be before Hamas or some other terrorist group bombs or stages some type of attack on American troops, similar to the barracks attack in Lebanon years ago.
They should claim a lack of supplies, since everyone knows that when you’re out of slits, you’re out of pier.
This is the Hamas equivalent of the bridge over the river Kwai, and I would be content if, when it is finished, the IDF blows it up—after our troops have left, of course.
That would be hilarious if that were to happen, after our troops had left.
It’s incredibly stupid to put them in harm’s way, and for no good reason.

Deranged that our soldiers have to build a logistics facility for Hamas, and get shot at by Hamas while they do it. DC is the enemy of everything good, and an enemy of the American people
Ahh, those wonderful little Gaza Palestinian Piers, they're so cute when they're young, but they blow up so quick!
Approximately the same as the over/under as when boats will use that pier to onboard Palestinian "newcomers" bound for America "seeking asylum" from the evil Israelis.
And it’s all being done with borrowed money.

Well, this should make Iranian weapons delivery easier.
The pier will be used to transport Palestinian muslims to the US.
They may be nice at least until it is done....they need another area to sneak weapons through, and Biden is obliging.

Hamas is pixxed that this operation is a relief valve to get their Palestinian subjects ( de facto hostage population) out of Gaza
