Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell distanced himself from other Republican lawmakers who have called for the National Guard to be sent in to break up the antisemitic riots and demonstrations that have taken over multiple university campuses throughout the US over the last week and a half.
“What needs to happen, at least at the beginning, is these university presidents need to get control of the situation, allow free speech, and push back against antisemitism,” McConnell told Margaret Brennan on the CBS 'Face the Nation' program.
“I thought that was largely gone in this country, but we’ve seen a number of young people who are actually antisemitic. Why don’t they all sit down and have a civil conversation rather than trying to dominate the talk?” he asked.

Local police are capable of handling the matter. I’m not interested in a police state where the military is called in for minor matters. There hasn’t been any serious violence from the students and it was the university administrators who shut down classes not the students. So exactly how do you justify calling in the military at this point? That’s just crazy.
Mr. GG2’s nephew is the President of a well known southern college. At first he wanted to say no to any protests but was told that legally he had to so he designated a small area at the edge of the college property and let them protest surrounded by cops. It was basically a non event.

The protesters were not students of the college.

Let the Left's student radicals wreck the elite colleges and universities that nurtured them. The last time that happened, the GOP coalition was invigorated and elected Nixon and Reagan.
