When I enrolled in Columbia, it was on a full academic scholarship. It helped make me who I am today — it allowed me to grow, learn and be successful as I set out into the world.

Signs at Columbia University read “Go Back to Poland,” calling for the Jewish community to return to the horrific death camps of the Holocaust. They chant “Kill all the Jews” and “October 7th 10,000 more times.”

This hateful rhetoric calling for the death and destruction of an entire population has no place at Columbia and no place anywhere.

As long as schools take millions from China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries who are hostile to America and as long as they take boatloads of students from those countries who have been raised on anti Western and anti Jew teachings it is ridiculous to expect a different outcome than what we're seeing.

That seems to be a description of most college courses today.

A friend of mine was a student at SUNY in the late 60s. The campus was rife with disruptive leftist student radicals, with many faculty supporters spurring them on. My friend opposed the radicals. He would write letters to the student newspaper, pass out fliers, speak out at events, and arrange for conservative speakers.

My friend had two allies among the faculty: a straight laced, strongly conservative engineering professor, and a liberal Jewish humanities professor of European background. The two made for an unlikely pair but were good friends.

One afternoon, my friend was at the student union rathskeller with his two faculty supporters to plan activities against the student radicals. After a couple of beers, my friend asked the Jewish humanities professor why he opposed the radicals. After all, he was pretty liberal and opposed the Vietnam War like they did.

The Jewish humanities professor paused a moment and said, "I will show you." He then rolled up his sleeve and exposed a serial number tattooed on his arm. "I was given this in a German extermination camp when I was a boy. I know who the SDS are. They are Nazis."

American Jews are now getting to see that the radical Left aims for the destruction of Israel and the Jews. It is late in the day and not all will take the lesson, but I hope that enough of them may to make a difference.

I spoke with him in 2000 and he dismissed all claims and evidence of this and anti-Israel propoganda at the time as right-wing lies or compared it to 1960s nonsense. He could not understand that the 1960s radicals had taken over every department outside of economics and some sciences. He reads the Boston Globe and NY Times.
