yes, and no.
It’s like he is two different persons. As governor, he certainly looks and acts presidential. Does the right things for his state. As a candidate, he never resonated with the electorate, and instead of recognizing that Trump already had the people’s trust locked in, he schmoozed with anti-trumper elites in the attempt to discredit Trump. It had an element of Jeb like entitlement. He may yet be the guy for 2028, but his campaign leaves a lingering uncertainty of which man he really is.
He is a boring, ugly speaker. Great as governor. Bad as Presidential candidate.

Rick Perry (TX) was the same way. Although I believe Ron DeSantis is head and shoulders above Perry in governing capability.
