Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Sunday said House Speaker Mike Johnson “betrayed” Republican voters after the House approved new aid to Ukraine, threatening to call a vote for his ouster if he doesn’t resign.
“Mike Johnson’s speakership is over. He needs to do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn’t do so, he will be vacated,” Greene said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”
After months of resisting putting a foreign aid bill on the House floor, Johnson joined with Democrats on Saturday to advance a $95 billion foreign aid package, which contains $61 billion for Ukraine and regional partners. The legislation – which passed with the support of 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans – now heads to the Senate, which is expected to give final approval this week.
Should Greene and her supporters make good on their threat to force a vote on ousting him as speaker, Johnson will almost certainly need to rely on Democrats to bail him out.
The Georgia hardliner is one of at least three Republicans who have said they will support a move to oust Johnson — whose majority is so slim he cannot afford to lose any Republicans on a party-line vote.

Doubt we have the votes
She’s ridiculous.
Just do it and let the Democrats save him. If it were me Id nominate Jefferies. Democrats bills should come from a Democrat speaker.
No Maggie, not this time.
I agree with her. He needs to go. What a traitor. And weak as hell.
Vacate the bum.
Only if she can guarantee that no Republicans will resign to allow Democrats to have the majority and allow them to take over the House along with the Rats then not allowing Trump to take Presidency if he were to win.
Just do it, stop talking, just do it.
Johnson is a huge disappointment, but let’s face it. He’s not only fighting the Democrats, half to 2/3 of the Republican Party would rather be Democrat. Not to mention liberal Republicans who when forced to vote for a conservative issue, resign to give the house to the Democrats. He wanted the position, he should’ve had a plan to get past that, he failed. But it’s stupid to turn the dialogue to Republicans, when Democrats are failing so badly. Get rid of him in the new Congress.
GOP will be minority party within a month.
I want to see the Democrats in the House “save” a Republican Speaker.
He’ll never get that stench off of him, nor will any Republican who votes to keep him.
There is zero difference between Republicans and Democrats in the House. It makes no difference who the speaker is now. Republicans are all talk, no action.
She needs to stop. She is doing more harm than good.
I think you’re ridiculous.
Am I happy about the pork-filled continuing resolutions and rank corruption of earmarks and the rest of the Uniparty business-as-usual? Of course not. But the Republicans barely hold the House and she's willing to throw that away, with all that implies in terms of the Dems passing bill after disastrous bill if they regain control, simply over 3 foreign aid bills.
The blunt truth is that there nothing that can be done about the border as long as the "Biden" regime is in control. She expects the small conservative Republican squad to storm the swamp's machine gun nests in a frontal assault without the backing of a conservative President and veto.
The woman is an idiot.
You have got to be kidding me. These Republicans aren’t doing any harm? Are you a RINO?
I like MTG. She takes no prisoners. She tells it like it is. She holds to her principles.
If it were not that close to the elections, I’d want her to go with the trigger to get a new speaker.
Johnson may be republican, but he’s dong the work of the democrats.
Time for him to go... but not yet... after the election republicans need a new leader.
So are you RINO
They’re not going to save him. They will vote in Hakim and the Dems will control all three branches. House Senate and White House.
This is a really stupid move
