Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday thanked U.S. political leaders for approving an aid package to Ukraine over the weekend, saying the newfound aid will give the country a chance at "victory" as the country defends itself from Russia.
“I think this support will really strengthen the armed forces, I pray, and we will have a chance at victory if Ukraine really gets the weapons system, which we need so much, which thousands of soldiers need so much,” Zelenskyy, who spoke via an interpreter, said on NBC News' "Meet the Press."

Asked whether this aid will help Ukraine win the war or just prolong it, Zelenskyy told Welker, “It depends on when we actually get weapons on the ground.

And another 60 bil and another 60 bil....
I’m more concerned with the US having a chance at victory when WW3 comes to our shores.
Ukraine isn't getting a single inch of territory back Russia controls. This aid package merely guarantees more dead Ukrainians and more lost territory.
All Johnson and the Republican scumbags that voted for this have done is help Biden delay Ukraine's defeat until after the 2024 election.
Yes, slim and none and slim just left town.
“Why will this latest aid turn the tide?”
Right, only our money can do it. Not the euros, not the rest of the world, only us.
This Ukraine funding deal is being billed as a “loan”
but it is not a “Loan” as honest people define “loans.”
Speaker Johnson’s Ukraine Foreign Aid Package is another contrived “no-repay loan” like Hunter Biden got from his sugar-daddy who, as a Biden donor, happened to have $60 million handily laying around (like most working class people do /s):
<><>the Ukraine “loan” allows Joe to “Forgive” 50% of the billions Nov 15, when Trump wins,
<><>or lets Biden forgive 100% of “the Loan” Later On (If he pulls off a 2nd election steal)
Rotflol......the billion dollar joke’s on us.....we been suckered adain.
Few years back, billions more of our tax dollars to Israel
were handed out———designated as a do-good foreign aid “loan.”
But when it came time to pay up, Israel got its lobbies to manhandle Congress.
The battered, bruised Congress sap-happily passed a law
.........saving its collective political ***es.......
quickly turning the foreign aid “loan” billions into a “gift.”
And, the politicians the MIC kicks the money back to.
The MIC has made Nikki Haley very wealthy.
Ukraine’s complete and utter contempt for Americans is
evidenced by the changing stories we’re being spoon fed.
How ludicrous is this.......?
<><>Zelensky keeps telling us they’re “on the verge” of winning
<><>”if only” we’d give ‘em several more billions.
<><>Zelensky brags they’re really doing a job on bad ol’ Putin.....
<><>they’re impoverishing him, while “shooting down every Russian thing in sight”..........
W/ the threat that this will “demand” US boots on the ground.
Which is it nitwits? Make up your frickin’ minds.
....and the politicians just got richer.
Screw that greedy bass turd and I’m sick of hearing our politicians grovel about and my forcibly removed tax money propping up a corrupt foreign nation over 5 thousand miles away
This war has been going on for over two years. What is the end game for either Russia or Ukraine? I see no end in sight. Meanwhile Zelensky just keeps getting richer.
The Russians would be perfectly happy with the territory they have gained. But, there aren’t going to stop until Ukraine agrees to remain neutral and disbands its military or until Ukraine no longer exists.
LOL, sure Ukraine should "disband" its military and trust the piece of paper Putin signs. Even Finland dropped 50 years of neutrality and the treaties signed with Russia, and quickly joined NATO.
List of treaties Putin violated by invading Ukraine:
UN Charter 1945
Nuclear NPT 1970
Helsinki Accords 1975
Belovezha Accords 91–92
Budapest Memo 94
Black Sea Fleet Treaty 97
Friendship Treaty 98
Treaty on Azov Sea & Kerch Strait 03
Border treaty 03
Karkiv pact 10 Putin even broke a treaty he personally signed with Ukraine, the 2003 “Treaty Between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on the Russian–Ukrainian State Border”. It set Ukraine’s borders as they were in 1991 & was lodged with the UN.
Translation: We will have a chance to make ourselves even richer from America’s foreign aid largesse.
The corrupt politicians and weapons manufacturers will get richer. The Ukrainians will suffer more death and destruction on the battlefield. The weapons won’t get there because we don’t have enough to give them. Trust in Joe Biden, he will make Afghanistan look tame compared to what he does to Ukraine.
What you really have is a nice war machine for corrupt politicians to make money and keep that new money freshly laundered.
Most people around here don't get it. When Zelensky talks about "a chance at victory", he's not talking about a military victory on the battlefield. He and everyone else knows that isn't happening......ever. Rather, the aim here is to prolong the war in order to send more Russians home in body bags in the hope that this will foment.....eventually......civil or military unrest in Russia, which will lead, in turn, to Putin's removal and regime change.
In this scheme of things, "victory" comes from the voluntary withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine by the new, globalist-friendly, post-Putin Russian government in Moscow and the return of territories lost in war. That's the plan, here.
The aim is to turn Russia into a Slavic version of Canada; a resource-rich, woke, homosexual "marriage"-embracing, liberal sewer.
No chance at victory.
Barely another chance to negotiate a ceasefire and peace, hanging on to what Russia has not yet taken.
Zelensky, your lack of supplying the troops with enough anti-air, shoulder-launched missiles . . . that is on you.
Really? Any post-Putin government that's not interested in Russian empire building and annexation of neighboring countries is by your definition "globalist-friendly"? Idiocy
How about building up the Russian standard of living instead of wasting money on the Russian military. Is that "globalist"?
