Friday, during a CNN live broadcast reporting on the jury being seated in former President Donald Trump’s trial, a man set himself on fire in front of the Manhattan courtroom.

Anchor Laura Coates said, “We have a man who is literally set fire to himself. A man hasn’t plays into himself outside of the courthouse just now, our cameras are turning right now, a man has now let himself on fire. Hi, are outside of the courthouse in Manhattan where we’re waiting history to be made. A full jury panel is done. We are watching a man who was fully emblazoned in the front of the courthouse today, we’re watching multiple fires breaking out around his body and person. We have seen an arm that has been visible, that has been engulfed in total flames. There is chaos and it’s happening. People who are wondering right now if people are in danger. This is despicable. The active ranting from this reporter reflects how sick the media is. She’s perfectly willing to give a running dialogue about a sick person who decided to light himself on fire. She acted as though he was taking leaves or sweeping the sidewalk. Instead, he’s trying to kill himself and she’s doing g nothing to prevent his death. Instead, she’s a commentator, actively telling us something we simply don’t need to know. Shame on her. Shame on CNN. This doesn’t need to see the air.

I thot she did a good job. She is better than what cnn deserves. She kept her head, kept talking, took cues from the producer, said what she was seeing, confused and chaotic as it was. Can you practice reporting a spontaneous human combustion you are totally unaware of?
