Israel carried out a strike on Iran early Friday in retaliation for a barrage of missiles and drones launched last weekend, an Israeli official said. It was not clear what damage the apparently limited strike caused in central Iran, but the official — who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military matters — said it was intended to signal to Iran that Israel has the ability to strike inside the country. Secretary of State Antony Blinken declined to comment on whether Washington was warned about the strike, but he emphasized that “the United States has not been involved in any offensive operations.”

It seems that for once in his miserable, backstabbing life, Biden got it right and the world avoided a regional war.
It appears the limited strike was primarily meant to send a message to the mullahs that Israel can hit Iran whenever and wherever it pleases.
Biden didn’t get anything right. Israel did. Glad they chose a limited engagement. But eventually Iran’s nuke facilities will need to be take out.
It’s being reported as a minor strike that caused little damage. Iran’s response to it has been muted. Looks like another tit for tat thing and otherwise things seem to have settled down for the moment.
If this is a US head fake ..it would seem to benefit Israel?
...which is now free to take its time toexecute a real retaliatitory response.
.
If you believe that, you believe the moon is made of cheese.
Yeah, sure thing.
That reply will not age well. Get back to me the massive strike occurs.
Believe whatever makes you feel good, HS.
I believe in facts. Where are your facts to back up your warmongering hope porn?
You believe in government, you probably also believe our media. I take statements from each with a grain of salt, you are fee to believe what you want.
My non factual speculation won’t age well?
Don’t be silly. There’s nothing going on in the skies over Israel or Iran. That is a fact. That action or lack of is what I’m relying on, not anyone’s words. The situation has been diffused, much to the chagrin of the warmongers on both sides.
“which is now free to take its time toexecute a real retaliatitory response.”
Whatever you care to call that won’t age well.
This is what I expected - a strike to show Iran that Israel CAN strike all the way into their country and enough to show that Netanyahu did not/will not obediently say “Yes, sir” to Biden.
No, they could launch from above Syria and Iraq, which is what they did.
They also blew up the air defenses at issue in Syria and Iraq.
They could also refuel using their 707s. They probably did this, as well, but it’s not clear.
Pretty much what the Iranians did last week. I am thrilled to see a MAD scenario in the region. The Iranians and Israelis are both now too powerful to engage in warfare that might result in millions of deaths on both sides. This is the most positive event to come out of the area since Rabin was assassinated.
Anything is possible. I doubt it though. If you do come across factual information reflecting that, please ping me as I’d be most interested in revising my views on the situation.
Well the explosions and destruction of radar facilities in Iraq and Syria are about as hard as it comes.
“I didn’t do it, nobody saw me do it, you can’t prove anything.”
That’s not Iran. You’re talking everyday occurrences, no less ordinary than the Hezbollah missile attacks on Israel yesterday. First party attacks on the others home territory are now basically off the board for fear of MAD escalation. This is a good thing if you are interested in avoiding mass casualties on both sides.
